So, I’m making progress with the editing of the new novel. Page eighty-four out of 192. I’m going through about ten to fifteen pages a day, depending on my spare time. On the first or second day of editing, this past weekend I believe, I found myself laughing out loud at some of the conversations being had between the characters. I think when a writer can look back at their work and rediscover the fun and magic in the story, being carried by truly deep, real characters, that writer has hit upon something special. Either that or I’m nuts. Ask my wife and she might have to agree with the latter, if the look she gave me when I burst into laughter had any meaning.
In addition, I’ve also come up with a great idea for a short story, which I’ll post on the site as a freebie once it’s finished. The story maybe part of a larger collection, the idea I has the possibility of being extend through handful of stories, all interconnected by a single character or item. We’ll see.
