Just completed the first draft of the first novel in my new series. Its called DEAL BREAK and (in a nutshell) is about a little girl whose parents sold her spirit to the cats-paw of the god that watches over the doors to eternity. And to get her spirit back, the little girl has become a spirit hunter, gathering spirits of the recently dead and those in the control of shaman. During the course of the novel the girl gains friendship through two teenagers who are determined to help her confront her bondsman. As always, messing with a guy who played chess with a god and held his own, getting her spirit back from death’s man will not be easy. Plus, he’s got plans of his own, his deal with the devil almost up and his body close to being shoved in a coffin, this ringmaster of spiritless orphans is ready to renege on his deal… if the spiritless girl and her new friends don’t interfere first.
That’s the first book but there’s much more. With the first book finished now I just have go through and do… sigh… the editing. My least favorite part of writing, it’s tedious work which takes a lot of attention to detail. Plus, it seems to move slower than writing. Oh well.
With a little TLC and a bit more tightening of the nuts that hold all the bolts in the manuscript together, this thing will be in print in the near future and in bookstores. Fingers crossed.
